Mobile Reagent Filling System

Project number:
23027
Sponsor:
Roche Tissue Diagnostics
Academic year:
2022-2023
The system shall be designed so that it is able to interface with either a human or a collaborative robot system and AMR (robot interface definitions will be provided by Roche to ensure compatibility, however for this stage of the project, no AMR or collaborative robot will be used).
The fluid dispense interface should be accessible by human and collaborative robot arm.
The system shall be able to detect fluid level for the small bulk bottles with an accuracy of +/- 300 mL.
The system shall be able to detect fluid level for the large bulk bottles with an accuracy of +/- 600 mL.
The system shall be able to detect fluid level for each of the bulk bottles without contacting the bulk fluids.
The system should be able to detect fluid levels for the bulk bottles without requiring modification of the existing bulk bottles or to the existing ULTRA instrument.
The system shall be able to dispense controlled fill amounts anywhere from 100 to 10,000 mL with an accuracy of +/- 100 mL.
The system should have a method of measuring or estimating the total onboard bulk fluid amount in supply reservoir(s) with an accuracy of +/- 100 mL after completion of each fill process.
The system shall have a minimum onboard fluid capacity of 20 L.
The system should automatically control the duration and stopping of the fill process, and only require a user to manually initiate the fill start sequence.
The wetted components should be compatible with all ULTRA bulk reagents (for this phase of the project, however, the system will only need to be demonstrated with water).
The system shall not have any leakage onto the floor, and may only permit < 0.5 mL spillage onto the instrument or exterior portion of bulk bottle per fill operation.
All other leaks shall be contained onto the mobile station platform and not exceed 1 mL per fill operation.
The system envelope should not exceed physical dimensions of 36 in x 24 in x 48 in (W x D x H).
The system shall not exceed a weight of 125 lbs when fully loaded, including the weight of the robotic arm manipulator (based on vendor specifications) but not including the weight of the AMR.
The system should be able to function without needing to be plugged into an electrical source during bulk level detection and filling.
The system should be able to operate for 30 mins without requiring recharging.
The vision system or sensor(s) should be able to operate in an environmental humidity range between 10% and 90%.
