Develop a High Resolution Optical sensor that can be synchronized with a Millimeter Wave Radar sensor and use GEO- registration, along with drone/aircraft INS data to successfully map a large parking lot and grass area. Optics must be able to withstand rapid variations in lighting conditions and bloom resistant. Project will require Engineering in the areas of Optical, Electrical, mechanical and software/computer science. All materials and sensors are to be "off the shelf" or provided by Honeywell Aerospace for prototyping. Software development should be advanced enough to differentiate objects (using MMWR) against non-elevated surfaces and have them super-imposed over the optical video image. Symbolism and reference/grid objects may be used. One requirement is a quick recovery time of camera imaging when exposed to high light following a darker exposure, reducing the "bloom blindness" to <2 secs and allowing radar data to continue syncd imaging.
